Meet The Cast

If bad attitude has a name, it’s McCleary.  He is contemptible, and a dinosaur on the force.  A great personal loss and years watching his streets putrefy cause him deep emotional pain. He struggles to hold on to why he became a cop, having lost all compassion for the people he polices.

A narcissistic predator.  He is self-educated, and insecure.  He lays claim to his small piece of the city, controlling the sex and drug trade with the deadly charm of a rattlesnake. 

"Once a marine, always a marine." Retired from service, Leon owns the Diner started by his grandfather and namesake. A gruff exterior can't hide his gentle heart, nor that he cares for his neighborhood, those who live there, and those who pass through. Unable to control the chaos outside, he maintains order inside the Diner.

She's a cantankerous old woman in a job she hates in a life that left her behind years ago.  Every day above ground is a good day.

Alexis has the sarcastic and acerbic charm of a freshly baked Apple pie with a knife in it.  Leon’s is the only family she’s ever known. She’s a fixture at the diner.  She worked through the good times and bad times.  Her crusty exterior helped her navigate through decades of change.

A low-rent call girl, not a street walker.  She has been physically and sexually abused by life and survived.  Now living on her own terms, not ever to be controlled by others. She made a promise to make enough money to disappear.   “When I’m done, I’m done” she tells herself.  But when is enough, enough?

She’s a transgender Blues singer with a “fabulous” persona.  She can wow you with a broadway tune and break your heart in a red slit dress while singing the blues. 

A street hooker.  She hides her low self esteem behind her fading sex appeal and drug abuse. She's a scared little girl who found herself on the streets and now medicates her misery with her non-existent impulse control and ability to make guys "finish" quick. A loose cannon ready to explode.

A high school literature teacher, a romantic at heart, trapped in his sex addiction.  He fools himself, living on the edge of abstinence with a sincere need to get the girls off the streets. 

A free-spirited young woman, ready to take a walk on the wild side. Cupid is the embodiment of the "Silver Lining".  She sees the world as her oyster. 

A nerd at the top of the food chain, struggling to become the man he wants to be.  He is caught between his friendship and his love for Cupid.

Type A personality stuck in his glory, unable to get out of his own way. Everyone looks at him and he knows it.  He truly believes in his own hype and walks the walk, at the expense of anyone and everyone.  He will be his own downfall.

Naive, young, pretty… and lost.  She has no real self-esteem, has romanticized sex work, and believes this is where she belongs and the only place where she fits in. 

Life struck hard at Quisp.  Now a chronic homeless man, a cockroach scurrying at the edge of society, he’s lived on these streets long enough to forget.  His reality is deteriorated by years of physical abuse, drugs and alcohol.  He uses his poetry to make what human connection he can.  In his lucid moments he watches over the other homeless.

An “invisible man”.  Like his name, a single syllable, he is alone in this world.   Coop is on a conflicted collision course with suicide and must come to terms with his biggest fear; To live or die, and will anyone care?  His fragile walls crumble while trying to ignite what little ember of love he has left in his soul.

She's about as tough, fierce, and fair as they get.  A seasoned veteran homicide detective
